@LeodimeII Those who think HD650's sound good out of iPod's havent heard them from anything else.

@getconnectedtvshow — I thought they were titanium and silver in color. They aren't made of titanium or silver. If they were they'd be worth a lot more money.

NIN + HD 650? Don't make me jealous. =(

Impendence isn't everything, and iPods can push out a lot of sound. I read a review that said these sound fine with an iPod, even though it's not going to belt the sound out as loud as it could.

I know, my amplifier should arrive next week. All I'm saying is that they don't sound crappy on weak hardware. They just don't sound as good as they could. I was thinking about buying a lower resistance headphone, but I figured that sooner or later I would end up buying something better anyways.
-
But why would you do that? You'd be so much better off using a lower resistance headphone. You won't be able to hear the difference anyway with the iPod's crappy DAC chip. Don't know about the internals of the macbook though.

The sound is far from being weak and tiny. I'm listening to NIN using my ipod touch and my HD650 right now and it sounds fine. An amplifier shows the true glory of those awesome headphones, but they still sound alright on a portable device like an ipod or a macbook.
-
Well it doesn't explode! The iPod doesn't have enough power to push the HD650 so you end up with a very weak and tiny sound even with the volume maxed out.

but what happens if you put it stright 2 ipod? i dont knw... lol
WTF? Connecting the HD650 straight to an iPod? They're 300Ω headphones, they need an amp! And they are not titanium, it's a painted finish.
