Thailand's female army recruits - 19 Nov 07

As the separatist movement in southern Thailand grows more violent, the Thai army is developing an alternative approach to the conflict.

Hundreds of Muslim female recruits are being trained ahead of being deployed to the south.

It's hoped their knowledge of the local language and customs will help calm tensions in the region.

David Hawkins reports.

i think if thai government do that, the win n win situation exist. from the malays side, they still sustain their heritage n identity. from the thai government side, they will able boost economic growth at the southern province. moreover this is most productive region. other than that, the richness of cultural variety is enhanced n thailand bcome more unique to the world with many attactions. what the most important thing peace will exist n sustain here. sorry bad english.

Aids problems are everywhere on this earth. People get sick and have to use syringe and also blood transfusions. You get HIV from many ways and no one will be free from it when the last day comes. Hundreds of thousands of hill tribe young women, females from neighboring countries come to work illegally in Thailand. Nobody force them to work in such industry. There are prostitutes in other countries as much as in Thailand, I believe. This is the truth. Bu there is no prostitutes in the USA.

in reality Thai buddhist and muslim didn't face any problem.. they live together make friends and no other difference among them.. they even have harvested a peace in 1990 when PM chavalit persuade almost muslim local leader to participate in government.. from then we can see, muslim and buddhist eventually not a main reason for them to enemy among both.. but the problem is now sincerity.. since like elite general and radical jihad keen to fight back rather than peace..
