GT5 - Clearing Out My Replay Theatre

I was browsing my Replay Theatre and met once again with a hilarious moment that I just had to upload. I decided to throw in a bunch of other random replays to make it worthwhile as well, so allow me to explain what's going on in each one:

1st video - Grand Valley Speedway online race, looks like I'd qualified quite poorly, but what can I say? Some of these guys were using proper racing wheels and are generally using cars that could win them the race, whereas I'm on the d-pad and x-button with an FF driven Focus haha. After the hilarious incident, I actually managed to hold that position till the end of the race and nobody caught me up, which is why it's so satisfying to watch that one moment over and over hahaha. Get in there little Matte White Ford Focus!

When that TT knocked me into the wall at 4:16, I thought it was over for sure ... makes it even more special haha.

2nd video - You're watching smrtb0mb in his red Chrysler 300C on what I can only presume are Sports Soft or Hard tyres. Tell you what, what a start that was regardless! The little unidentified object up ahead is actually me (the DOME-ZERO Concept :P ). However, as soon as smrt was clear of the Mini and Mercedes, he thought he was in 1st place! In actual fact, he was on his screen ... apparently my car did not appear or register as part of his race the entire time haha! Online instability like this is one of the main reasons I stopped playing this game for a while ... the most fun part was just becoming the least enjoyable experience, so I packed it in. Anyway, you can sort of tell that smrt has no idea I'm there as I defend with my life at 5:32 haha ... turned out to be a good race in the end, but didn't know who else couldn't see me!

3rd video - This was just me messing around on Madrid in one of my favourite Skylines on Sports Soft or Hard tyres, I can't remember. I just wanted to see how fast I could get, racing ghost after ghost after ghost ... and in the end this little trick ended up being the fastest way to navigate those first turns! I simply couldn't beat it because of the drive it gave me onto the following straight. It kind of demonstrates a "limit" as to how fast you can possibly go with automatic transmission and a standard Dualshock controller. If I was to ever take this game seriously I'd have to invest in a wheel & pedals, because around tight corners like this, I'm getting hammered. It's hard enough controlling the accelerator but you can't steer as far as racing wheels can, so your turning circle is much greater ... I'd also have to learn how to drive manually so I'm not restricted exiting corners as you can hear here as well.

4th video - An epic conclusion to an epic 3-way battle. You join at the start of Lap 3/5, on-board with me in the tropical Lancia Stratos. As per usual, the tight corners at the end of the lap weren't my thing, but I'd tuned my Lancia for "power-over-aerodynamics", assuming that it would benefit me on the straights ... and it really did :) Great race!

LOL! Now I'm not sure if I couldn't see you because of connection problems or because your car was so short compared to the 300C :D

That Grand Valley moment was awesome, I love little karmic revenge moments like that haha. But 13 players? I think that would be futile for me. I can't seem to have a good online race with more than about 4 or 5 people these days.

Nice work preserving the race of that Stratos driver at the end... you can tell one little tap and he'd be out of it. :D

Haha smrt, the Stratos driver was "me" xD I thought people might have gotten lost because I kept the camera behind my car most of the time. It was much harder to drive than their Clio and Integra I'm sure ... MR cars usually are though aren't they?

That Grand Valley race seemed to be a good one, even with the large number of players ... kind of divided into two mini races anyway: our lot and the front runners, was really cool! :D

@Cirrus5005 Haha! I I kept thinking the camera was on the name in yellow... he's in the Clio - no, he's in the Evo - no the Clio! Well good driving the Stratos, I think it's got a really short wheel base for rallying so it's prone to spin out if you breathe on it wrong.

Instead of wielding the awesome power of a Big Rig and flying around corners with massive momentum built up. Mudplugger? really? there is no mud on the game. Evo simplified the game so much from it's roots of pure technical genius to a version of NFS on steroids. And there is one offroad track on the frickin game and it feels exactly like the rest of the game. Driving around on someones remains of a city, no track is distinct and there is nothing to the game that makes it standout.

Really nice video. I love your videos so keep them coming. I've been trying to connect with you for some time now on either Gt5 or MSPR.

And to all who think MSA is better than MSPR they are so wrong. Evolution Studios got so far away from the grounds of making an offroad game. First of all, the game wasn't even really offroad and on top of that they could have atleast made the vehicles seem somewhat distinct from one another, a Big Rig feels exactly like a mudplugger
