  • When I visited Ireland I found the cream and butter was sooo much better than what we get in the US, consequently scones and cakes, etc. tasted like heaven. If you can get hold of it, Irish butter is now sold in the US and though it costs more it will make a world of difference in your baking.

  • @gmaureen You know I've seen Irish Butter in the store but haven't used it yet. I've had Irish Cheddar cheese (yum!), but after hearing your recommendation, I think I will have to try some Irish butter.... soon! It would probably add a lot of flavor to one of my shortbread cookie recipes. What do you think? -Cindy

  • @harwoodpodcast I would try it in shortbread and/or butter cookies. Because of the cost (try Costco/Trader Joe's for best prices) you will want to use it where the difference can be noticed. Also, do some internet research on european butter, you might find you like a French brand better - some folks do.

Don't get me started on cheese, I could write volumes. (English and Irish cheddars are the best, IMO).

  • @gmaureen Thanks for the Costco/Trader Joe's suggestion! I wouldn't have thought to look at either place :) I'd love to hear volumes on cheese. I ♥ cheese. In fact, think about joining us on our Facebook page so we can get a discussion thread going about it. That would be really fun! -Cindy
