Around 9 p.m. Sunday, May 24th, Baltimore County, MD westside units were alerted for an apartment fire reported on Horizon Circle in Randallstown. While units were enroute, fire dispatch advsed police were on scene reporting heavy smoke showing from a 3-story garden style apartment building. BCoFD Engine 2 (Pikesville career) arrived first, reporting heavy fire was showing through the roof, and quickly ordered a second alarm. As the blaze intensified and conditions worsened rapidly, the Incident Commander pulled crews from the building and switched to defensive operations. The fire tore through several attached units of the building, leaving dozens of people homeless over Memorial Day weekend. The blaze eventually went to 4 alarms, and was not called under control until almost 12:30 a.m., although firefighters remained on the scene for hours to contain hot spots and ensure all the fire was extinguished. One firefighter suffered a minor injury operating inside the building.

  • *Typoes*: Ou=You, butthe=but the, dngerous=dangerous, and Pusthis= Plus this. Sorry about those typoes. My keyboard doesnt work correctly all the time.

  • Umm. A bit of info. ou can replace a house, but you cant replace someone's LIFE. Also for your info, they did an offensive interior attack butthe situation was dubbed "too dngerous" by the chief. Pusthis footage was shot about 5 minutes after the actual arrival and interior attack. They were forced to move to exterior defensive positions. Nobody was harmed. That is the biggest concern. I would much rather lose a house than a life, bro. Think about it.

  • Oh wow, I use to live in these apartments back in the late '70's , if I'm not mistaken on the location.

  • haha brandon..no idea what your talking about do you? Whats wrong couldnt get into BCoFD? Prob not a firefighter because we dont bash each other no matter what. You werent there so you dont know the conditions of the fire..A garden hose? youd prolly piss yourself if you actually saw some fire. Im not gonna bash BCFD i just think its sad that you have nothing better to do but complain about a department that you have no idea about.

  • Well said TurnpikeFire, well said. BTW, FirePix1075 thanks for the videos and keep them coming, loved all the new ones you have posted, you should start a fire news program on youtube. just a thought.

  • Also. I know your going to come back with an in depth reason why the BCoFD sucks. I dont want to argue with you. I'll say it this simple. As a firefighter, im trained, above anything else, to risk a little to save a little, risk a lot to save a lot. Pulling up in front of this, we knew everyone was out, and flames were shooting out of the roof. This apartment is not equal to my life, or the life of anyone on that fireground.

  • Actually. Pikesville Engine 2 arrived and sent crews into the building, who remained fighting the fire. In fact, at 00:50 in this video, you can hear us evacuate from the building, due to the conditions. We then reentered later into the incident later.
