Pretty awesome, not too far from me.

I live in McKinney. It's great that they allow commercial wind energy, but Wind Energy Conversion systems are not allowed in Single Family zoning districts. Agree that the big propeller turbines should not be allowed, but there are many compact vertical turbines.

@field16 Absolute rubbish..... God gave us coal and oil to burn - use it and make the most of it :)

Its unusual to see one of those not in a remote area. Hope this becomes more common.

Everything on that property is powered by either solar or wind power. The lights on the stop signs etc. are solar powered. The lights inside are mostly wind powered if not all. at 3:09 you can see those blue things on the walmart. Those are solar panels (so ive been told). For those who dont know that Wal mart is the Test center for Green Walmart.

@mifan93 Hi, thanks for the tip. Yes, I also see the small 400W turbine for sale on their website, currently priced at $570 and an Air-X brand priced at $822.
Personally I plan on building my own turbines from here on out, but if I were just getting started, I might consider one of these. I'm just glad to see they are being sold to the public.

I live in McKinney and I think it's great they allow commercial wind turbines, Wind Energy Conversion systems are not allowed in Single Family zoning districts. How may we convince our local government to allow vertical wind turbines, that are bird friendly and quiet on our local properties?

@Rusty6450 I hate that for you that McKinney has such rules. It's OK for Walmart but not anyone else!? I'm more appreciative of my right here to operate a turbine. (I do have one and plan to build more)
Some ideas regarding your local government that makes the rules... threaten to vote them out. Look for the candidates running in the next election that favor your right to harness wind energy. Move to another city and take your tax dollars with you. (Yeah, easier said than done.)

Hi There Field16, i enjoyed watching your video's and i hope you will continue to make them.
I've found your TEC project as i was searching on youtube for TEC's (as i am a computer enthousiast)
In the Netherlands (where i live), wind turbines are a very common sight, and are used to create durable energy, we actually have an entire wind turbine park in our north sea, some are even reaching 100+ meters, which makes them magnificent to see.

Thank you. That's great that your country uses wind power. Capturing the wind is much cleaner than burning oil and coal.
