"Burnt Orange", art video installation

"Burnt Orange" is a video art installation from the "Burnt Orange" series of paintings, photographs and installations. Experimenting with different techniques, all of 13 original paintings from the series were mounted on a wall while I projected distorted video and both complimentary and contrasting colors on each painting. 8 different models posed while the edited video projected on them. With little or no direction, the models began to naturally interact with the video. Movements ranged from blank stares directly into the camera to provocative spontaneity while the video rolled from frame to frame. Nothing was rehearsed. Most of the time, the models could not tell what was being projected upon them at a give moment. My only concern was whether a particular photo captured the apparition of the color burnt orange's vibrancy. More information on this series and art may be found at www.jimlivelyart.com.
