"Currency" explores the value people place on their money, and the money people place on their values. "Currency," is a short non-sync film that investigates money and its place in society. The film asks what is the importance of the dollar in our society, and explores what different people in an urban setting place monetary importance on. The film follows a single dollar bill as it passes between seven very different people in an urban city. The dollar, ominously marked with a dark red embossment, is passed between a very diverse group of people: rich, poor, black and white, people with no connection other than the passing of currency. It travels lead it from a convenience store to a restaurant, from a church to a prostitute, all in an insightful look at what people spend their money on, and more importantly, why. Can money save your soul, sell your soul, or is it just used for necessity? Does money connect us all or draw us further apart? "Currency" forces viewers to think about their relationship with the most sought after thing in the world...money.
