I would like to see that Z06 with the same gears as the cobra and yes off the hole. I have better take off on my vette with 4;10s than on my stang with 4;10s

I give lots of props to the vette since there is a big.......>>> gap in weight differences. Just imagine if the vette weighted the same as that Shelby.

just like shown in the above video.  I actually think if the shelby would of had the 289 it would of been better for top end than with the 427. The 427 has too much trq but 289 should be faster on top end.

@alex369 depends on the cobra. Is this a 427? or is this the 287? If it was the 287 then it's a lot less horsepower than the vette. Either way the cobra is still in my opinion the best car ever made

It definetly looked like the Cobra ran out of gear... If the race would of started a little lower the Vette would definetly be playing catch up. The Cobra dominated the 60's and 70's and is still going strong today - Love it, thanks for the great car Carroll Shelby.

Yeah that sounded like a 5.0... If it had the 500hp 427 in it, the Vette wouldnt catch the Cobra until it ran out gear at about 165mph... 90% of the cobras on here are kit cars with 5.0's or 5.8 motors in them. Aerodynamics would definetly be in the vettes favor after 150mph.

Veyron's only run 10.2, race a C5 Lingenfelter Z06, they ran a 9.2 Stock at 800WHP, and the C6 is running faster than that, the C5 was the ONLY car that beat a blue Angel Jet fighter at the 1/4mile, ford tried it and FAILED, Cobra=Good Car, but Z06=Better, just sit back and read up on a Z06,Zr1, and Lingenfelter and you are going to look back and say "Wow, he was right, these cars are fucking fast". Now dont write anything back that is dumb because you will fail and i wont reply, ill just laugh

Z06 did it in 3.4, 1/4 mile in 11.4, cobra didnt, they ran in 12second class. My friends dad had one and he told me about everything that went into that car almost everyday, pretty annoying actually, he had 12.0.1 pistons in it and cammed out and was only hitting low 11's, so you figure high comp. pistons, and cams add alot of HP, they are nice, but i watched pittsburgh raceway a C6 Z06(stock) vs a 427Side Oiler(restored,stock) and the vette won

The Shelby Cobra 427 is good, and its fast, but the Z06 is faster, its an easy 11 second car, and if that Cobra is sticking a vette, most likley it is, just by looking at the pull on it, i garuntee it is, because rarely you find asshole rednecks getting a hold of those and putting parts in it to decrease the value, Kit or not, they never do that shit, and if it was a modded 5.0 it would stick the vette, maybe a 351 windsor, but like i said...doubtful, im not putting it down but z06 is faster.

Why does everyone assume that all the cobras on the tube are 427's?The 427's are rare motors nowadays,and most of these cobras are 5.0's or stroked out windsors.

It is not a real Shelby Cobra...that's a kit...othewise we would not be here arguing.
