Navy arms 44. cal black powder revolver

This is a Navy Arms 44 caliber Black Powder revolver.

It is a Itailan replica of the 1851 Colt powder revolver. The original Navy models were 3g caliber, and the army models were 44 caliber

The original 1851 revolver was as much a part of the trail to the West as the Americans who traveled it.

Not only a Civil War mainstay, it was the weapon of choice of Texas gunfighter John Wesley Hardin and other gunmen on both sides of the law.

It is advisable to load only five chambers and let the hammer rest on the empty one.

  • @Westfak Your a few hundred years off, Einstein.

  • Beautiful gun.

Which company did you purchase this one from.

Were you able to order it in that finish?

I've seen many originals, and am particularly attracted to when they used to make them in iron, without the brass platting.

This one seems to also have some sort of vintage finish.

    Can you help?

I know there is Uberti and Pietta.

    Thanks.

  • @katazone My Grandfather got it at an auction a long time ago.
