I'm from Crete and we call it here Tsikoudia!!! Raki is a worldwide meaning for the homemade aperitif.

*In the Balkans, however, "raki" refers to a non-anise-flavored drink made from distilled pomace, similar to Italian grappa, Greek tsipouro, Cretan tsikoudia (which is also known locally as raki), Cypriot zivania, and Spanish orujo (Wikipedia)
