RFIG: Finding millimeter-precise RFID location using a handheld RF reader and pocket projector without RF collision
A photosensor is embedded in the RFID tag. A coded illumination via pocket projector locates the tag.
The computer generated labels are projected and overlay the object creating augmented reality (AR).
Put a camera in a room and make it look like your seeing through the walls from the other side by beaming the display onto it :P...

What about lighting ? I gues this idea will work only for dark places. In places which are bright like sunlit, it would be best to use a tablet pc with augmented reality. Think Layar with RFID capability :P . The tablet pc could have 2 cameras like htc evo 3d or lg optimus 3d.

@MrBadSamaritan Not always comfortable. Items stacked high up on the rack can be marked with equal use using this method. And having computing capabilities means the user can see the data the way he wants. Want to search quickly for all boxes containing pickles?

so putting tape and writing on it on the boxes won't work?

is that guy at the very end Grant Imohara (i know I spelled his name wrong... in hindsight it would have taken less time for me to Google his name instead of putting this disclaimer here) from the Mythbusters... ok now I feel like im being lazy, I googled it the correct spelling is Imahara. Wow what was I even talking about?

At 3:41, the narrator mispronounces "eigenvector", obviously a rented voice rather than a researcher. Which makes his use of the word "we" hard to stomach thereafter ;-)
