A short video based on Ray Bradbury,s 1950 short story of the same name. A poem by Sara Teasdale was the inspiration for this story, which appears in his book " The Martian Chronicles" Teasdale's poem was written shortly after WWI, and wonders if nature would mourn the passing of mankind. Bradbury's story is placed in a future setting, after a nuclear war.The last house standing carries on without it's owners, unaware of their passing. A new phenomenon, the Nuclear shadow , left by a person or thing, flashed onto a surface in an instant, is used by Bradbury to great effect. Two songs by Nox Arcana seemed to fit the mood of the story. I claim no rights to the works of Mr. Bradbury or Nox Arcana and give all rights and credits to them or their representatives.I wish to thank both for creating these wonderful works. The original video was taken in and around Peoria, IL, and Springdale Cemetery. Please rate and comment ,plus share with a friend via you tube or facebook.

  • Story: in the future of a time when humans perished from an atomic bomb, this one house filled with technology existed until the time it burned down. We have built technology that has the power to destroy us on its own. Thats the theme.

    Theres the summary..

  • @WLOfails Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts about the story.

  • My class had to do a comparing and contrasting worksheet on this video to the story. Out of the 2 videos we watched this one was my favorite:)

  • @RebeccaVanity1 Thank you for your response, I appreciate your thoughts.

  • Thank you crashroader. Yes I took certain liberties as my ability to create animation was limited, and my dog would not cooperate for another scene. So I moved the ignition source to the incinerator ,which is referenced in the scene where the dog is disposed of. The image of "dishes being manipulated like magic tricks" also prompted the incinerator being included. Maybe someday if I have a budget of slightly more than ziltch I will redo this. I really like this story, all of Bradbury in fact.

  • NO COMMENTS?! YOU'RE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!
