@leftyla they compete for prelims until they win they national title, if they can, or until they continue not to compete in the circuit anymore. Once you win the national crown you can no longer compete in the circuit. but there over half a dozen national titles to compete for. So if they so choose there are many more national titles to go after. The "Big Four" consist of Miss Gay America, Miss Continental, Miss USofA, and NEOY(National Entertainer of the Year). Not to mention local/bar titles.
