Nokia 6220 Classic with Picodrive

Ahhh, Just got this baby 2 days ago free on a Free to V, Cap 30 with Virgin Mobile. (at Allphones, my work :P)

First thing I did was got Picodrive (SEGA Megadrive/Genesis) emulator running on this little baby.

Overall initial impressions of the Nokia 6220 Classic;

The Camera is awesome, the 5mp camera is really great for snaps, especially those less than ideal conditions with the Xenon flash. Its quite the treat.

Video Recording on the other hand, is Okay, but certainly no N95/N82 killer. There seems to be alot of unwanted artifacts in the videos I've taken so far. Even in High Quality TV mode, I can't help but think my Nokia N90 does a better job at video recording than my latest 6220 Classic.

The Keypad itself is certainly quite decent. Its nice to finally get a 5MP candy bar Nokia phone that doesn't shred your fingers, like the horrid N82 keypad.
The D-Pad itself is actually quite good. For such a small thing, its very functional and works in all diagonal directions which is great for Picodrive. Unfortunately the Symbian key is abit too close so I can't really play Gunstar heros without going back to the menu screen.

Build quality is quite average in my opinion. Although the directional pad is great and the numerical keys are functional. The overall construction is just average, with alot of give on the sides of the phone. An unwelcome change from my 6110 Navigator. The shutter key is especially cheap, which is a worry since it will probably take a bit of a punishment from me.

Wrong this phone is not or at least should not be considered to be a remake of the legend 6233. Internally speaking this is the best Nokia has ever done 10/10...but externally......it is a rubbish phone and what a shame on Nokia. I have it so I should know..the buttons are almost moving out of place within a few days of use and the quality of the material is very cheap. It looks good on camera though. very deceiving!

just change the date on your phone, install picodrive, and then change the date back to the correct date.
