  • vollys do not do the same job, professionals would have went in for a quick knock down.

  • @pjblake1969 Hobart fire department is a paid, union, full time department

  • @tubbsmjt Sorry, but anyone who runs around talking shit about vollys pisses me off. They do the same job for free with no benefits, pension, annuity, or insurance. Seriously, a group of people that care about other people, not doing it for the paycheck.... Go figure. Wake up at all hours running mutual aid for paid departments. Funny, the paid departments ask them to respond..... Talk about them like their second class citizens.

Yeah, I'm sure the town drunk or any other loser you described is going to put their life on the line for total strangers. Asshat.

  • @pjblake1969 fuck u all firefigtiers are pro's dam SUPPORT VOLUTEERS FIREFIGHTIER

  • So many bottles, so few masks. Why so many smoke-eaters these days?

  • An AGGRESIVE interior attack and bigger hoselines were needed here BEFORE the fire takes a good foothold and gets too far out of control.

First companies on scene set the tone for the duration of the incident.

Would have been better if they had gotten inside and "pushed" the fire out of the building instead of pushing the fire and combustion products back into the building.

  • @pjblake1969 Insert foot in mouth

  • It apperars to me that they first truck on scene was running on a minimum crew of 3 men. The first one with the hose was trying to do a simple knock down. The second man was probably working on setting the pump. The OIC was busy doing size up an requesting additional help. With that amount of fire I would not entire until I had a back up line. The room to the right is well off. The sheet rock has already dropped and the trust roof is well off an comeing a part.

  • I lived in an apartment complex similar to this...24 units...two story, front and back. When they built it, they had a walkway between the front and back buildings...fine for maintenance...butt a chimney when there was a fire. They went to the ground in about an hour. As to the comment on the volleys not being pros...Cleveland, MS is all volunteer...and insurance class 5...not bad at all. I think they're the only VFD to have that low a rating.
