Ukrainian Military Help to Macedonia in 2001 - by Mykhailo Malyi

In 2001, Macedonia was attacked by kosovo albanian terrorists who crossed the border in an attempt to destabilize the country and eventually cause the separation of western Macedonia. This is all part of the albanian dream for a "greater albania" or "illirida" as they call it. This war was masked by a so-called 'battle for human rights' for albanians, but the truth was and is obvious.

During this time, the West first called the albanians terrorists, and supported Macedonia's fight for freedom, but shortly after it started receiving military hardware from Ukraine, the West had asked Ukraine to stop sending weapons to Macedonia.

The Ukrainian government continued to help the Macedonian nation by donating some, and selling most of the heavy military hardware to our country when we needed it most. Roughly 20 helicopters (mi-24, mi-8, mi-17) and four Sukhoi Su-25 Fighter Jets, as well as countless tonnes of ammunition and light arms were sent to Macedonia to help our country protect itself from the outside invasion. A very large Antonov aircraft packed to the rim with weapons was seen landing at Skopje's Petrovec Airport many times during the war, providing much needed support to the armed forces of Macedonia.

For all of their support, the Ukrainian People and Nation will always be remembered as very close friends of the Macedonians. Thank you, Ukraine!

@pravoslavenmakedonec imam 20 godini i sum albanec vo ova vreme sto go pisuvam ovoj koment casot e 8:13 minuti utro.... ne sum spiel cell den i nok sum gledal Konfliktot na 2001 ..... edno ne mi e jasno zosto ne mrazite Tolku sto imate tolku omraza po albancite jas ne mrazam nikoj sto nacinalitet da bide imam drugari od mnogu zemji hrvatski bosanski i mnogu drugi ova ne mozam da razbiram ... :)
