University of Minnesota students who live in the Chateau, a highrise in the Dinkytown neighborhood, had a hard time registering to vote at their polling place on Election Day, Nov. 4, 2008. The problem: A letter from the building management explaining that they pay utilities as part of their rent was not considered the equivalent of a utility bill for the purposes of identification. in this video, U of M student Jill Stein explains how she went back twice to vote before finally giving up and getting a ride from her parents to their suburban polling place. The Chateau houses 290 students, many of whom had the same problems or worse.
