It's pretty sad that the news has to make an excuse for people to be kind to animals because it is "that time of year". People should be kind to animals ALL YEAR!. Thank you to the rescuers and the kind people that rescued Herbie. What will make an even bigger impact is if people go Vegan and quit supporting the torture and killing of animals. There are millions of Herbies out there being tortured everyday to make a freakin' hamburger. Have a Veggieburger instead.

I completely agree with you! Why does the public get outraged about one cow, but they don't care about the millions killed inhumanely for their consumption every year???

I was so unaware of what the people and the animals go through until I watched "Fast Food Nation". I used to think all the people who supported this were tree hugging hippies (well, to an extent), but Even what the workers go through is ridiculous. That movie really, really made me want to become a vegan.
