@euwingtham i never carried the laptop out into the fireld, so that wasn't painful at all since it was just camera sequipment.
when the bag was packed full, it would have been difficult to carry for a long period of time - but luckily, we had airports and then could put it under the seat. we also put plenty of other items in it as a carryon.
the bag still looks great, 9 months and lots of use later. i love this bag.

@WanderingEducators Sure it's not painful after an hour of carrying over your should or across it? I have a Crumpler, a small one compared to this, and I use it to fit my 15" laptop, and it was heavy, and uncomfortable. How does this hold up?

@michaelh6 LOL. that might be true, depending on where you are traveling. we had no problems in ireland or scotland.

@TechStopsHere we packed in a laptop, video camera in a bag, nikon DSLR, and 2 small cameras. it fit very well. what made the bag heavy and much larger were all the cords and adapters (and other carryon items). for the field, we wouldn't be taking all the cords, and it would not be heavy/unwieldy.
that said, even jam-packed full, it fit underneath the aer lingus and delta seats quite easily. the shoulder strap is very comfortable, and i wore it across my body and over my shoulder with no pain.

@thirsokewl - our laptop is a 12 inch laptop. it could probably handle a 15 inch laptop.
would it fit 17 inch pac book pro??

the look is good, but how about raining?

@nikonkit we were in ireland where it rained every day. the fabric held up well - i just had to make sure to tighten the bag when i closed it.
