The song was a major revival in this 1952 version by Les Paul and Mary Ford. Here are the lyrics to sing along with.

I'm sitting on top of the world,
Just rolling along
Just rolling along.

I'm quitting the blues of the world,
Just singing a song
Just singing a song.

Glory, hallelujah, I just phoned the parson,
"Hey, Par, get ready to call!"
Just like humpty dumpty
I'm ready to fall.

I'm sitting on top of the world,
Just rolling along
Just rolling along.

I'm quitting the blues of the world,
Just singing a song
Just singing a song.

  • Ah pure platinum sheer jealousy why should one man have just sooo much talent

Bless you les bless you youtube Now I would not want to live without ya

    max

  • @nerdz410 today that they those durp, i agree though les paul shreds!! hence the legacy i suppose

  • Oops--Sorry. I just listened to the other upload of the same record. They are played at the same speed! The other upload has a mellow sound in comparision because a lot of the high end was filtered out (or missing).

  • @ratface111 I believe this is the correct speed. It is well known that Les recorded parts of his music to be played back at twice the speed. This is the speed on my CD recording of the song.

  • Les Paul - the first shredder
