On 12/13/2007 the Elizabeth Fire Department along with Elizabeth Police, EMS and Trinitas MICU were dispatched to South St and South Pearl St for a report of a man in the water. Units arrived and found a man in the water hypothermic and unable to swim to safety. Rescue Company 1 immediately went to work and brought this man to safety without hesitation. Great Job goes out to everyone involved in this rescue assignment.

He decided it was a good time to jump off the bridge after getting out of a car. But as you can see, it wasn't much of a suicide attempt as the bridge isn't very high.

I live in Elizabeth (not originally from here) and I must say that I am very proud of EFD. They are on top of things and beyond that, they treat the citizens of Elizabeth as their own families. This video clearly shows the call for duty.
I took the fire fighting exam wanting to be a part of this wonderful group of men/women.
Hooray!!!! for the best Fire Department!!!!!
