  • Good stuff fesco!

  • So to pump, do you just move your hips in semi circles or do you just move your legs?

  • Check out the link in the info section above. There's a lot of tips and links to more vids there. It takes more time on the board than anything. Your legs shouldn't move too much other than slightly bent knees and some subtle ankle movements.

  • What do you mean wedge and dewedge

  • angled risers-- you want to add more angle to the front truck making it turnier, and take away angle from the back truck, making it more stable.

  • question...if i wanna convert a sector 9 uluwatu (46" bamboo pintail with a subtle flex) into an LDP machine, what do i need to do??

    It has gullwing alpine 10" trucks as standard, with 97a durometer bushings and 75a 70mm wheels.

  • first thing, wedge the front truck, dewedge the rear truck, softer bushings up front, harder ones in back. you've probably already figured this out over the last 4 months? :-D

  • just discovered you guys. so legit.

  • @threecheerer I just finished doing this to the same exact board. I got a Bennett 4.3 for front, same tracker truck for back side. i have 2 khiro wedges (15*) in front and a 1/2" riser in back with one 7* khiro (de)wedged. I put 3 green Reflex short cone bushings (very important) in the Bennett. Its a tight fit, I got a real thin washer for bottom (or you can use without bottom washer). Stack bushing like hourglass. used flat washer on top of solo cone on top. 90a dead bushing in back.

  • @threecheerer BTW, orange+white front, red+blue back. I used the stock bennett bushing that came with it in the back truck and it was better than using two blue khiros. So duros for me (I'm heavier) are 73+79 front, 85+90 back. Like I said, frontside has softer bushing to board and harder to ground, backside the opposite (you want the front to turn as fast as possible when you push the board, and the back should be more stable while absorbing bumps etc, therefore it's reversed).

  • @threecheerer I think you can find all this info at pavedwave, but anyway... I've got two boards setup, both have white+orange khiro barrels. In one I used three metal washers outside the cupped-washer (underneath the bushing kit) to raise it in place, in the other I cut 1/3 of another orange khiro and glued it to the white one to make it bigger (the board side bushing in the bennetts is not the standard size). Front, softer bushing to the board and harder to the ground, back the opposite.

  • lovin all the funky movments with the arms at 58:00

  • ok, i am about 130 lbs, and i'm trying to set up an old s9 ala moana for ldp, i'm thinking bennett 5.0's front, 129mm tracker RT back. i'm gonna dewedge the back by -10, and wedgr the front +15. i'm gonna set it up with blue 77a avilas front, orange 73a avilas back, and i want to know how much riser would i most likely need, and how to set up the bushings; all i know is that softer front, harder back. thanks.

  • Lastly, after you get a good setup, go out for the first couple times with the skate tool, a couple different duro bushings and TEST, TEST, TEST! When I got my vector and rode it the first day I stopped like 20-30 times and tweaked my setup until I could pump uphill with it. It's a very fine tuning to be found, front should be loose to a point where you're comfortable not being flung off at around +-20km/h, back should be stiff but not so that it doesn't return to the center anymore.

  • One more thing, forget about "even weight distribution". I don't know if I'm an expert as well, but a couple days ago I pumped 12km non-stop without a single push and I noticed a lot of things that changed from when I couldn't do it right.

    1) have a relaxed upper body, but focus on the muscles of your core (abs and lower back);

    2) lower speeds, more weight in the front foot to push it, after getting it going, 70% of the weight on the back foot.

    3) bouncing could be ok, but just on back foot.
