Muslims often celebrate this night with fire-works.
In fact, Zoroastrians used to celebrate their festival NAUROZ this way.
False traditions lead Muslims into believing that they must pray this night for forgiveness of the dead, that Allah descends to the lower heaven with His mercy.
44:2-3 and 97:1 indicate that the Qur'an was revealed to the exalted Prophet in a night of Ramadhan. That is what these verses are referring to.
