Cool! It took me a while, but I finally found a G. smithii (smasher) who's happy as ever in a 10 gal. (same tank and light hood actually) He's a very interesting critter, mean too! Maybe I should post some vids here... you have any video of your critters posted hengaikroy?

Hey its rare that I see ppl having laoticus instead of longimanus/spinifer, what made you choose laoticus instead of the others? I'm just curious cos they are my fave Heterometrus species and finding them can be difficult as opposed to the ubiquitous spinifer/longimanus. Lovely set-up and beautiful specimens you have btw!

    Thanks!

I found it at my local pet store labled as an emperor, so it chose me. Clamps and Snuggles have since passed on for unknown reasons, and the tank has been broken down :(

Now im keeping a mantis shrimp but will probably return to keeping scorpions when I have space for a larger setup

Actually, d16, it is possible for two different species to mate. The main reason i know this is because thats what happened. Whats not common is for an offspring to be created. Try looking up a liger (lion/tiger mix) Beast is right, this was the aftermath of the actual mating process. If you knew anything about scorpions, you would know this is how it works. Also, if you knew anything about scorpions, you would know that its possible for some species to get along.

I love my Emperors, but the Laoticus here really has it outclassed........you can see its smooth glossy sheen almost making the P. imperator drab and dull although they are of nearly the same coloration....
