Maybe they went even so far that they mummified their room plants - and Pokeys were their room plants back then.

But in the end nobody of Nintendo probably didn't even try to come up with a reason why there are Pokey Mummys.

It isn't a soap show, smallville is kinda sci Fi but still more real then regular sci fi's.

Haven't you ever heard of a Superhero Called Superman and he got this stone/dish with eight sides that opens a path to a fortress with all the knowledge of his people,that was more advanced then the human, til they blew up their homeplanet, he looks like a human but got superpowers, like a mini-god.
