Game plot:
You play count Georik Zaberisk, a doctor who lives in a mansion in a small village together with his younger sister Lillith after his mother died and father disappeared. He has to work of the debt his father left him, which brings him into contact with the underworld through loan shark Dashwood. To earn more money, he leaves his home to become doctor at the royal palace where he meets old friends and new enemies. However, one day, when he returns home, he finds that his sister has been arrested and put on trial for being a witch. All that is left of her is her chopped off head -- that still lives. He takes the head with him and vows to build a new body for his sister through alchemy. Little does he know that this new path is filled with darkness, tragedy and terror that will lead not only to heaven, but also to purgatio and even the nine layers of hell.
Notes:
- Gorgeous art. Deep and intriguing plot (that borrows from both the history of alchemy as well as Dante's Devine Comedy). Multi layered characters with brilliant voice actors. Also has a lovely soundtrack. What more could you want? Well, maybe a protagonist that is not blinded by his love for his sister, or a bit less BL if you are not into that stuff.
- Incredibly hard, even with walkthrough... I did not finish all routes... The game is a mix of route options and collection of items. You need certain items to advance in your alchemy and thus in the game. If you miss the correct items, you get a bad end. Also, there is a timer that forces you to choose the next path within about 10 seconds.
- One character, Dashwood, has two endings. You need to watch his ending first, then go for Ruthberg's ending, then go for Mikhail and -then- do Dashwood again. If you do not do this, you will not get Dashwood's endings.
- The game has a few problems and bugs, so -before playing- upgrade the game with the official patches. If you do not do this, you will always end up with one of the Bad Endings ("Corrosion" if I remember correctly). Learn from my mistake XD
- All characters are voiced in Japanese
