"When once you have tasted flight, you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been and there you long to return"

Unto the goods:

Insanely gratifying experience. I feel I am at a new level of trust with myself. I guess that means it's time to push another limit :D

Just think of explaining this to someone one century ago, in 1911:
So you're on this plane, right? Oh you know, the metal birds we use to FLY around the world ANYWAY, you go up about 13,500 feet then jump out! How am I still alive to tell the tale? You have this thing called a parachute. You deploy it when you get to around 5,500 feet and it aids you to make a graceful landing while enjoying the ride down at a nice steady pace. You learn how to navigate the parachute to steer it in any direction you want, make turns, set up for a landing, etc. Then you just touch the ground at about something comprable to falling out of your bed (if you do it right). Everything just makes sense. It's complicated yet simple once you actually take the class and get truly introduced to some of the terminology and equipment.

*Who ordered the fresh addiction with a side of adrenaline?
**Over here. Damn, what took so long? Been waiting 25 years for this.
*You may have been deaf, because you have yet to hear ROAR of gravity as you fall from heights from which some have perished, and felt the same feeling before slamming into the earth. You may have been blind, because you have yet to witness the earth as intimately as this. You are not spectating from an aircraft. You are not on something solid. You are falling. You have never felt this and will never feel it if you don't experience it. Many people flake because of fear, but fear can be managed. By cleverly and efficiently approaching fear, you figure out ways to make yourself unafraid. And this is different for everyone. No one can help you learn this ability besides yourself.

It was the most extreme thing I have ever done and am looking forward to getting my license!

Facts:
350,000 people skydive each year. Roughly 0.1% of the US population.
30 people die every 3 million jumps. Gives you a .001% chance of dying per jump.
30 people die out of 350,000. Gives you 99.9915% chance of surviving a skydive.
