@GaryNull Are you implying that bass is only to be played with fingers and guitar only with picks? Have you heard classical guitar? Flamenco? Lindsey Buckingham, Mark Knopfler, Chet Atkins? What about bass pickers like Carol Kaye, Chris Squire, and the occasions when John Entwistle used a pick (amongst a variety of techniques)? I feel sorry for you because your closed-mindedness only makes you a one-dimensional musician.

Go see the TTB - rarefied air - that can't last forever
-
@GaryNull You are a fucking fagtron for saying that. You clearly have no slide guitar experience.
-
@GaryNull I know what you mean. Ry Cooder and Mark Knopfler, too. Their sound too totally sucks.

@craiglouis I love Warren... but no man. That sentence should have read "No one can touch him." Seeing Clapton, Santana, Gibbons, Trey, Warren, and Bramhall react to Derek's licks pretty much tells you everything you need to know.
Living legend.

@craiglouis Yes. But I felt that the DTB wouldn't last b/c essentially, Derek & Susan were competing with one another musically- sounds weird, I know- and they'd shine most on occasions like this. Truth be told about Ron though, good on the sax but a huge dissapointment as a person. I'm waiting to see what Susan and Derek have waiting for us all!

@4rainbowed Ron played with Gov't Mule one of the six times I've seen them. He's great. I'll miss the Derek Trucks Band & only got the chance to see them once (20 feet away). Seen Derek 4 other times with ABB & once 2007 in Soul Stew Revival @ Snowmass festival. He & Susan are the greatest at what they do & Derek is indeed a lucky man. He is a centered peaceful man that reminds me of the early seventies players and of course, Duane. No one can touch him except possibly Warren on a good night.

Great combo of voice and slide guitar and sax. Derek and Susan are husband-and-wife team of great talent. I saw Derek tour with Eric Clapton in 2007 - fantastic show!
-
@T103168 lol,. . yes, I play the bass , . . an instrument that sounds good with flesh against strings. I also play guitar and without a pick, it sucks. Case closed.
-
@GaryNull you are a complete dumbass for that comment are you listening or just stupid have you ever tried to play w/o a pick
Can't get enough Susan love, can't give enough either. And Derek, long live your slide work, and the both of you.
