The date was Sept. 28, 2002 in Ames, Iowa. It was No. 19 Iowa State vs. No. 20 Nebraska. The Cornhuskers had been ranked in an NCAA record 348 consecutive weeks dating all the way back to 1981. But, Dan McCarney had his program on the rise. Seneca Wallace, Lane Danielsen and Michael Wagner were the offensive stars and the Cyclone defense held Nebraska to 273 yards in a dominating 36-14 victory.
The end of this win was summed up in perfect fashion by Pete Taylor and Eric Heft.
