Yo La Tengo - Mr. Tough

I love yo la tengo.. and I think that maybe they've just developed the sound they can call their own. They experimented and they've found something that is really their style. They've matured. :)

Ira Kaplan's piano solo sounds like a guitar solo :)

They used to have an original sound --- Barnaby, Autumn, American Band,etc. Now all their songs are either genre-derivative or sound like something thye've done before. That's why I didn't see them this time around.

Couldn't disagree with you more. They have grown as musicians and their last few albums are all super original. Going backwards... "Here to Fall", "Mr. Tough", "Little Eyes"...come on. If anything the Barnaby days were from when they could barely play but they thought music was a fun thing to do. I still think Electro-Pura is their best but I just saw them and they were amazing. Ira told me after the show about how much fun they have been having and it shows.
