36mp on a camera like this is more impressive to me than a ridiculously huge (and retardedly expensive) medium format digital cam.

I've had the chance to use a Hassy cam with a 40mp or so back---- it's not much fun to use in my opinion because it's like trying to compose through several bricks. This D800 is a camera you can go anywhere with and still produces files that have resolution that only was possible with medium format a few years ago. Impressive as hell. :)
