  • Terrible! And some call him the new Pavarotti! Poor opera, poor music, poor us!!!!!!

  • if we are poor..... that will be you that doesn't value the opinions of the other ones. Respect, resentful

  • In this recording, more than any other, it became more obvious to me how limited Bocelli is as an opera singer. It sounds amateurish.

  • OMG -- this simply cannot come anywhere near Pavarotti, whose singing of this aria is by far the greatest ever! Difficult to listen to this after Pav.

  • this guy is horrible....

    Romperci i timpani?

Fille, Puritani, La mia letizia infondere...

  • @BrianWelchVEVO Tone is just as important. Volume is needed because opera singers never use mics except in the afore mentioned large outdoor venues. When opera began as an art form centuries ago, there were no amplification devices and they are still not used today. Opera singers must be able to project their voices to fill a large theater. Tone and volume are just part of what an opera singer needs.Think of opera singers as the Olympic athletes of the singing world.

  • @arpeggio1358 Yes, I'll admit he does not have a very powerful voice. But I have one question. Why is it that volume seems to be considered over voice tone in the Opera world?

  • @BrianWelchVEVO He sings with poor technique and he has not the volume to sing without a microphone. Opera singers use mics only in large outdoor venues with poor acoustics. Pavarotti may just have been being kind. Popularity (selling many CDs) shouldn't be confused with greatness. He has sung in a couple of operas, but he could hardly be heard and he was hired only to make money for the opera house because they knew his fans would flock to see him.

  • this is ART and is up for interpretation ... dont you get that... degenerates.. go listen to something that you prefer and enjoy yourselves instead of trying to sound relevant and enlightened because youre doing the exact opposite.

  • Somebody please explain how this is terrible. (1) He sings with passion and purpose. (2) He sings wonderfully and controls his voice so that it does what he wants it to. (3) Furthermore, Pavarotti recommended Bocelli over himself (Pavarotti) to a man who wanted Pavarotti to record a song. (4) Whether anyone likes it or not, Bocelli has sold over 70 million albums, which means he is doing something right! Someone please explain what rules of singing he has broken here. Or why his voice is so bad?
