Maybe one day someone will realize that the ESC is in fact f**king political! You cannot overcome it! For some states it's just another tv show, but for some like Macedonia, Bosnia etc. it's representation! It's a "we were finally mentioned", it's a "Wow, we're not invisible"! This shows: NO, we aren't "one" as the motto from this year suggests. There is an occident, the hegemony and there is the Balkan, the other, the orient within Europe.

I dream of the day when the Balkan and especially former Yugoslavia is no longer marginalized, when the "other Europe" is not only European on ESC, when there is really a representation of states like Macedonia, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia... in west Europe, when those states are not only associated with poverty, emigration, primitivity, ruins, fancy holidays in Croatia or "exotic" Balkan Beats music, but with authors, artists, scientists from there.
