  • Ils sont completements a coté !

    They are totally out of the song !

  • @MrDjomouton To be honest, I believe so too. A piece so delicate and pure was ruined with violent string attacks (obviously, playing sul tasto doesn't help, attacks are still gonna sound knife-sharp) and loud singing from the chorus. It feels to me that the two groups fought to be heard, revealing their playing history as solo ensembles each. Too bad.

  • what a slaughter of a so beautiful song...

  • This lady is mixing Tchaikovsky with Arbeau or what??? how dare she? who's she to do that? AH JEEZ! She thinks that she's some classical DJ or what?

    She destroyed the song and insulted Tchaikovsky!

  • Frankly speaken, I dislike this version.

  • Why a piece from the Nutcracker in front???

  • To make any sense, it should be:

    -either sang only by one man or by one man and one woman;

    -sang slowly, but they are quite correct;

    -played lightly as a background music where the emphasis is on the lyrics;

    -played by a oud, flutes or something which sounds better light (violins and such do not get along well with this).

    And the last thing, they should try to get rid of their freaking accent: I know it can be rothic, but it's french, not spanish!

  • They feel like they have to change a song in order to make it nice.

    At the origine, it is more than likely have been written as a serenade (to seduce or pleasea woman) and might have been more than likely sang accapella or, if the anonymus author was able to play music, it must have been with a oud.

    All we know about it is that they used to play it as a dance song - a slow one - but we do not know who wrote it.

  • very nice :)

  • it sounds like a requiem rather than a dance
