@fgleich Romer is an economics professor at Berkeley, specialized in fiscal policy and the Great Depression. Peter Schiff is a BA whose predictions of inflation run wild have not come true (although a few others have). I would defer to Romer's expertise rather than Schiff's, but that's just me. Scientists are not idiots: they work hard each day to understand their area of expertise, and they hold themselves and each other to rigorous standards.
