Summary:
The Joker challenges Rachel to meet him in private and in exchange he'll reveal to her his latest "counter-plan" to steal the soul of Gotham. When she arrives, Joker tells Rachel his plan and then captures her.
While in captivity, Rachel becomes aware of the Joker's lustful fantasies of her. She's disgusted at first, but over time develops an attraction to him. They slowly become closer with their desire and curiosity over the other, but Rachel still rejects the Joker's advances, ashamed of herself.
Meanwhile, Batman searches frantically for Rachel as time goes by. For one moment Rachel gives in to the mutual attraction between her and the Joker when he kisses her. However, Joker subconsciously slips into one of his fantasies and Rachel runs from him, scared and repulsed at what she almost let happen.
As more time passes and Batman still searches for her, Rachel and the Joker have another intimate moment and remember their first meeting as they move closer to one another.
Before anything too intimate happens, Batman bursts in and battles with the Joker. He escapes with Rachel and the Joker disappears.
Despite being safe and free at last, Rachel's thoughts linger on the Joker, against her better judgement. On opposite sides of Gotham, both the Joker and Rachel daydream about what happened between them and what they could have been if the series of events had occurred differently. I think the lyrics explain it pretty well.
