This is the intro to the 1997 PBA AC Delco Open at Cal Bowl in Lakewood, CA.
It was the first PBT telecast on ABC (following six previous finals that had aired on ESPN), and the opening show of their 36th and final season with the PBA. This opening is unique because it features a special production piece consisting of footage from previous years of PBA coverage on ABC (and there would be more retrospectives to come leading up the final broadcast later that year). The field of five for this show is about as strong a lineup as you could see, and there was plenty of money to be had for the winner...

all of the ABC  Pro Bowlers Tour inrtos from 1981-88 then 1989-91 1992 then 1993-95 and the final intro all were fucking great but personally i liked this one the best bc it actually had s beat to it lol and yeah who wouldve thoufght this would be the FINAL year on ABC? sucked ass but what i was pissed about was how ABC treated chris shenkel in the end just firing him without notice that was just shitty

Little did we know this would also be the final year for the PBA on ABC and what was to come with the destuction of it that ESPN and that idiot host Rob Stone and his "Hambone" would make of it today... We miss you ABC with Bo and Chris the telecast the way it should still be... RIP Chris Schenkel.....

This is great. All 5 bowlers are awesome (as much as I dislike Weber). And the fact that you have the True Value open from when Goebel nearly shot 300. Who woulda thought the next week, Petraglia would have shot 300?
