**3rd Run**

10/27/07 at Swift Motorsports

My KA on the dyno, bone stock with exhaust. Not bad for an old motor with 170K.

  • @ztunelover Keep it KA man. Keep it KA. Its gonna get to where everyone has a SR 240sx and we're the champs with the KA-Ts.

  • @JeepYJJunkie I think I'll stick to your advice and just stay with the ka24de, and go with a nice ka-t setup. The usable power on a built ka is too much sweetness for me to pass up. No other 4 banger I have driven have such a sweet powerband, 2700 to 6000 rpm of endless creamy smooth pull.

  • @JeepYJJunkie Well my power aim is roughly 300whp, and both the ka and the boxer can easily give me that. Now my dillemma is the monster midrange torque band of the ka vs the seriously improved handling by installing the boxer, plus the unique factor. Soundwise I'm torn a good ka-t sounds nasty good, but then again so does a good ej20t. I got time to decide, this car isn't going anywhere if I have a say in it. Exhaust wise right now I'm running hks hi power 3.5inch so I'm covered for exhausts.

  • @ztunelover Keep it KA brother. SRs are swapped way too often, and Boxers aren't THAT great. Just put a garrett on it.

  • @JeepYJJunkie 1995. Still got the ka. I'm kinda debating turboing that. I don't want to do the sr20 swap because its overdone. Great engine, but too damn common in high performance 240sx. And honestly I tried a built ka-t. Honestly streetwise I would take a ka-t. Phenomenal midrange punch, and quick spooling turbos. Mix that with the lightweight nature, a reasonable ka-t can run low 12s all day long on street tires. Or I want to go completely unorthodox and try a subaru ej20or 25 motor.

  • @ztunelover True. Your car still got its KA? And what year is it?

  • @JeepYJJunkie Old plugs, old air filter, old cats, perfectly possible to lose 5 horse somewhere there.

  • @ztunelover You've lost power somewhere. Should be at least 155 HP.

  • Ya it's pretty dec. My s14 with 120k on odo posted 126.2whp and 142.1lbft torque bone stock on old plugs.

  • @nitrojoe9 Yes, it is. I was replying to kouki's question.
