For the people (especially my Mom) who have said, "I'd like to see how you do that!" I created this video to show my own peculiar process of illustrating a book. The illustrations in this particular book, Song of the Crickets, were inspired by the Bluegrass lessons my daughters and I are taking. I drew each of the crickets with an instrument.
I use a Mac loaded with PhotoShop Elements and ILife which includes Pages. My camera is a FinePix S1500.

@tomtheman68vlogs1 i've got a bamboo pen and touch. i draw in my spare time too and believe me, drawing tablets are the best! they are easy to use and not hugely expensive. I recommend wacom bamboo.

Why is it whenever I see a how to video with a drawing tablet, that people use photo -shop with it? I don't mean to sound rude or anything I don't even own a drawing tablet.......yet, but what I am asking is, is photo - shop the only program you can use with it? Only I'd like to add, I really like your drawings. I think you are very creative & imaginative, I tend to draw in my spare time which is why I am looking into drawing tablets & I'm just trying to better understand them before buying one.

if you want I can tell you how to do a recording of what you are drawing on screen and make videos like my speed paintings but of your illustration! just a thought
