Its Fine Im confused easaly most of the time anyway But thanks for the clarifacation though!!!

Sorry if I confused you, but the N&W's #611 and #1218 are famous restored steam locomotives that pulled excursion trains when Norfolk Southern last sponsered the runs 15 years ago.
I don't know if the #135 was sold to the New Haven ( which later became part of Penn Central and then Conrail) like some of the other EL-33C's, but #135 is the only Virginian electric locomotive that got saved from what I know of.

Good there are some still around!! Did those go to conrail & after wre they sent to scrap but saved?

There's a EL-33C, #135, that's been cosmetically restored in original Virginian scheme and on display at the Virginia Mueseum of Transportation in Roanoke, VA. N&W's 611 and 1218 are also on display in the showcase yard just a few car lengths ahead of it.

Are there any more in museums

I've seen pictures of some EL-33C's repainted in the N&W scheme in books I've read about the N&W and Vgn. railways. They were the last electric locomotives the Virginian ordered (1957 I believe) and the only former Virginian electric locomotives that got to wear N&W paint on some.
The N&W discontinued the use of the overhead catenary on the Virginian in 1962. Some remaining EL-33Cs were sold to the New Haven and even worked NEC trackage right freights for Conrail till 1981 in blue paint.

Did The N&W Ever repaint the Electrics into their paint?
brings back memories. i use to live in this little town. hearing these sounds at bed time its close to hearing rain on a tin roof.

Those are nice little towns that many people don't ever get a chance to see. We head down that way every spring for an 11 day vacation. Jack...
