First atttempt flying 96m of wire for 5/8th wave antenna on 160m ham radio band. Counterpoise used was 4 x 10m and vswr was 1.4:1 before any length adjustment.

  • @Biffbradford Yes, I did, once I built an external broadcast filter between the antenna input and the antenna. The idea was ditched to use this antenna, because once it leaves the vertical position (directly up) the radiation pattern turns to $%@#. A quarter wave performs better when that happens and tests have proven this, between a number of stations at various times. The end fed half wave is the best performer.
