Featuring too many performers from Baltimore to list, Terry Riley's "In C" happens at the Soft House. A special evening of great people engaged in a great exercise. Taped March 12, 2010. For the whole show go to http://www.vimeo.com/10324888
On an editorial note; this was by far one of the hardest events I've ever tried to tape. The 6 camera shoot was designed to be run by one person on a switcher and to project the imagery onto a wall in a room live in order to give people views of the performers they wouldn't normally get. For these reasons the cameras are mostly fixed, with a few of them being pen cameras that have poor 320 line, near-monochromatic pictures. With so little camera movement, and the lacking of a hand-held unit roaming, the video can get stale after a passage of time. As a document of this unique evening in Baltimore, this video has fairly covered everything. Audio is from 3 AKG 414's splayed out over the room in thirds. Sadly one of my tapes failed a few times, so there are seven breaks in the left channel's audio, all less than a second each. Overall still a faithful portrayal of the night. Enjoy.
