Part 10
Final push to the summit, the hardest thing I have ever done. Evening summits are rare. It was 4 hours up with two breaks, a cold hour on top, and 4 hours down, which was actually harder than going up (for me, anyway...).

Pause at 5:15 to see the shadow of the mountain in the sunset. The full moon is just to the right.

Sorry, not many chances for photos and film on this stretch. Managed to nab a few rocks off the summit.

  • around 3:30 i saw no one had packs on. did you guys stash them for an ultra light summit push?

    btw, nice vid and what looks like a sick trip!

  • Thanks! No, when we reached the crater rim, we dropped packs and walked across the crater to the highest point on the rim. However, we left most of our gear in high camp, so we had lighter packs.
