lol any muscle vs import question is gonna spur heated debate for example what im about to say im sure will get me flamed but i absolutely hate any vehicle made by ford and therefore cant stand mustangs. mustangs are faster except for the older 6 cylinders (the new 300+ hp 6 cyl is faster) but I will say that rx-8s are somewhat rare on the roads they are around but not everywhere, i can't drive 2 blocks without seeing 3 mustangs.

Not that you are, but I can't understand how someone with a rotary-Rx8 can drive the car SLOW? The car just begs to be driven hard and fast. Maybe that's why people get "bad" mpg's with the cars because they romp the hell out of unconcsiously lol. Can't wait to get me one. How has your 8 been treating you? Had any issues with it? How is it for a daily driver?

@MrOnlineGod where do you live? I have one for sale that still has 3 years of warranty and has never given me any problems

@tanner87 If its the manual which he has its the 231

@ChuukeseStink Then there would be no RX-7 or 8. Mazda is actually working on the next gen Rotary engines trying to rectify the issues it has now. Hopefully it works. I'm a big fan and commend Mazda for being different but committed to this. Most companies would have thrown in the towel by now.

I'm looking to buy one for myself, just wanted to ask you that do you have any problems with the engine, like engine flooding? i heard..

@MrOnlineGod pcm reflashes have made flooding an extremely rare occurance, especially if you get a manual transmission. mine has never flooded, just let it warm up before you shut it off and you shouldn't have any problems. rotaries do build carbon quickly even when you redline once a day, I got mine with 36,000 miles on it and don't know how it was driven in those miles but I redline once a day and at 61,000 miles I had it tested and it tested bad.

@brentd86 so it was still under the extended factory warranty and I got a new engine, catalytic converter, and spark plugs for free. I also bought new coils, wires, and engine mounts and had them put them in while it was torn apart and wouldn't cost me any labor. Try to remember what it drives like when the engine is new after being broken in, these engines loose power gradually and for someone who doesn't really pay a ton of attention to their car its easy not to notice happening.
