@Shurayuki18481 ......the story of my life of recent times. At least we can file the dvd's away in smaller compartments though.

They simply don't make music like this anymore. The 1930s surely must've been the ultimate musical decade.
The romance, class, style and sense of propriety is a far cry from what we're experiencing today.

@hajune Made a mistake. Tommy Dorsey was the Big Band conducor when Ellie did this song on a 78. It was done in 1935 before the movie. I think Ellie did a better job. Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey were 2 more who were in awe of Ellie.

They used Marjories Lane's voice in this movie. However; Ellie made a 78 with I believe Benny Goodman. I like that version much better. Ellie sang in the remainder of her movies after this.

Les reflets dans l'eau semblent plus nets que sur la scène. Ca c'est une trouvaille.

@varon1979 Hi there, your very welcome, I am very glad to bring these videos to YouTube to raise ELEANOR POWELL consciousness :P I'm glad that it's reached a military man too. I encourage you to spread your passion for her as so little people recognise her for what she has brought to the world of DANCE. It never hurts to practise it on the side :P Good Luck to you - G.A

For the past year I have been collecting all the films on VHS. You would have immagined my frustration when just last month I found out that piece of news. Grrrr I said to myself "Now that you've collected most of them on video they come out on DVD".
