Tamil civilians claim that they are now enjoying unlimited freedom after 30 years. They made this claim when President Rajapakse visited the Thunukkai area to inquire into their welfare.
One man said they were fortunate to return to their places of origin. He appreciated the moves initiated by the President and the Government for doing so. Another referred to the dark era they experienced for 25 years. They are now enjoying freedom and development was being accelerated. They believe that within a short period their areas would be fertile.
A woman said they had doubts about returning to their villages. It was a dream. However, this dream has now become a reality.
A student said they have now received the opportunity of going to school. They are confident that the President and the Government would provide them the required facilities to pursue their studies.
The President received a rousing welcome from the Tamil civilians on his arrival in Thunukkai to inquire into the wellbeing of the civilians resettled under the Uthuru Wasanthaya. The President gave them a firm assurance for a secure future, meeting all their requirements..

1. The insurance money paid by private insurance companies based on the coverage the house owner bought. Still there had being situations where insurance companies failed to pay and default. It's not the US government paid to re-build houses fro Katrina victims

kathrina IDPS still in camps! you got it from Palitha's lie. Yes when they return they returned to a similar house they owned before. That means, if their house is $500,000 of worth before Kathrina, the new built house should hold the same value as per insurance policy.

Not like the one Tent you gave to tamil families which 20 people sleep in 100 Sq ft.

On the situation of USA kathrina IDPS are still in camps,Sri lankan . IDPS are out in their own homes. What an achievement. This is a good listen for all barking dogs.
