This song is dedicated to my beautiful wife, Christine. I wrote it for her for our two year wedding anniversary.

Lyrics:

So here we are again: to celebrate our time together.
The smoothness of your skin gets sweeter with each year that goes by.

(Chorus)
I'll give up everything if you'll always let me be the one who protects you and holds you in my arms.
You and I are inseparable. The only obstacle is to never let distraction pull our hearts apart.

So here we are again....we've wasted a little time in anger.
So let me be the first to tell you that I'm sorry and I never want a stupid thing to get between us again.

(repeat Chorus)

  • Hey Steve, I love your song. I understand your point of view + response on my comment on playing for time from Acoustic Alchemy. I didnt realize they were using a 7/4 for their theme. I still think they have it loose specially the drummer On the other side I really enjoyed the viral drumming you've played on this song, it doesnt sound overcooked while being probably worked accordingly to get the texture you wanted. You have a great talent/interest for odd grouping, I really enjoyed it. Thanks

  • @theryan2112 Thanks so much for listening and for the kind words! You're correct, I really do enjoy odd meters in songs. As I've grown musically, I'm finding that I actually enjoy songs that are in odd grooves that don't sound odd unless you are paying attention. I used to love Dream Theater and other bands that have riffs that rip your face off in 19/8...and every now and then I listen...but I like people who can groove in 5/4 or 7/4. I definitely agree that it was a loose performance (cont.)..

  • @Drawthemoral ...and that's what kinda made it cool for me. Acoustic Alchemy are made up of some great musicians who are "within reach", if you will. Pat Metheny, on the other hand is so far beyond my skill level that it makes me want to quit. ;-)

I listen to Metheny to be amazed. I listen to Acoustic Alchemy to get excited about getting better as a musician.

  • I could listen to this song over and over again! I love it and I love you so much! Thank you for using your talent to write me such a beautiful love song!

  • @ChristineFroeber I can't but express how much you mean to me...

    *Cue the audience going "Awww"*

  • I like it. pretty cool.

  • @Kamehamehadoken Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it.

  • Yea, that crazy guy steve just loves his wife.....and for good reason....she's beautiful, smart, talented, a great wife and a great mother to my grandkids. Christine - you're da bomb, girl! ......Bob Froeber (Christine's favorite father-in-law)

  • @Drawthemoral Great Steve, believe me, I know what you mean by "within reach". Pat Metheny is surely inspiring though. I would love to get a comment from you on one of my video. My most viewed video is Seville - Flamenco Fusion. Cheers. Alex

  • Great song. I especially love the time signatures you play during the solo, and the way they seem to blend in to the song without seeming "odd". Im guessing its a (5+5+5+6)/4 and a (5+5+6+6)/4. Is it really??

Great work man. Im a fan....
