  • green and bloc very similar % of popular vote bloc=about 50 seats green= 0 this is not right

  • the only reason why larger parties want to stifle PR is because they fear it will lose them recognition. When really is is a good chance for them to really face up to how popular they really are.

  • Israel was stupid enough to enshrine it in their initial constitution, and removing it is close to impossible...both Italy and Australia have come close, but the special interest parties and their powerful lobbying friends have fought very hard to prevent it...I suspect when the dust clears from the current electoral shambles in Australia, they will have another shot at getting rid of PR, maybe with better luck...

  • The Green Party stands for the reprehensible idiologising of environmental concern...it stands for PR, aka disproportionate misrepresentation, the best guarantee of bad government to be found...see Israel and Italy as best examples, and of course Australia, whose current MESS will be resolved by backroom manipulation, Liz May's stock in trade. A pox on her and ner misbegotten party. As for disproportionate misrepresentation, Italy, Australia and Israel have all tried to get rid of it...

  • Proportional representation should be used for the Canadian Senate. It works well in Australia. Under proportional representation the Australian Senate has become more effective in scrutinizing Government of any political persuasion.

  • exactly, it's such a disgrace, we need to get rid of the first past the post electoral system, which predates the invention of the telephone.

  • Of course thats the reason she wants it. You don't think thats a good reason? With PR the greens would have 20 seats

  • Hello, mr. **** below me. 7% of Canadians, without a representative. Wow, sounds like democracy to me!

  • the only reason the greens want PR is the fact that without it, they wil never get in. lol, by the way nice election! 0/308 seats
