(12/31/09) Now with Annotations!

I hadn't seen any videos of this posted so I figured I'd do it myself.

Super Stardust HD, a PSN downloadable Playstation 3 game received an update that allows you to use your own hard drive stored music in game. this is a demonstration of that feature in action more so than my ability to play the game. The option was set to randomize

Music featured:
-Super Shooter by Rip Slyme
-Steve's Quest by Machinae Supremacy
-Switchback by Celldweller

Video Capture method:
S-video out to VCR-DVD recorder, ripped from DVD with VirtualDub Mod and encoded in DviX at 512x280.

  • this game had the most epic music ever... why in the world would you play your own music over it?? haha

  • @ERICROJO156 Well every game's music gets a little tireing after the hundredth time you hear it and in shooters you want something to pump you up a bit. I mean as good as the sound track is, I'd still been playing it since I first got my PS3, also it was one of the first games to get the custom sound track option.

  • How do u do that Honestly i got this game and while im playing the game I go to the xmb and go to music and its says this game does not support ingame music reply asap!!!

  • The option is in the actually game menu, the Options rather than the XMB. The option for ingame music are in the PS3 software Dev kits, it's up to the developers to use it and has been that way for months. While it's possible to do it from the XMB the developers have to code the game to accept it that way AS WELL as through their own coded in game menu.

  • @AnInfinitethereality

I'm not sure what this was in reference to. Was there something you;d like clarification on?

  • @TheRealAlpha2 what?

  • btw try starfox theme it kicks ass lol

  • gantz lol big fan here

  • b/c the devs are lazy and don't want to patch it for musuic...

  • I actually blast out to prodigy..and lords of Acid..

  • hey how come games like soul calibur 4 dont have in game music

  • My method is stated in the info tab, it's similar to yours. But I use Virtual Dub mod to rip and convert. I just did a test and it seems, at least with the original Virtual Dub, that I can capture through an old Dazzle Video creator 80 device I had laying around. I couldn't find the capture menu in Virtual Dub Mod but I may have just missed it. I have to play with the settings as the device seems to only do 4:3 video, I'd have to resize it but thankfully you can do that with Virtual Dub as well.

  • Oh cool. So what did you use to actually record this footage and put it up here. Im using my DVD recorder at the moment, then ripping the DVD's onto my hardrive, then onto YouTube. Now I'm just trying to find a decent DVD converter/ripper program whatever you call it. Any help? Thanks haha.

  • As you can see sometimes it stars off slow but it really depends how fast you power up and start destroying things. With the recent addon pack they made which adds new game modes and the retro sound track it almost exploded my eyeballs with the intensity, Clearly they're for advanced players.

V-dub mod is a very useful program for encoding videos and various editing uses. I havent had a chance to capture with it yet but I'm sure it probably would work just fine with the correct AV connection.

  • Haha my mate described this game as taking cocaine AND speed at the same time! Is VirtualDub Mod a good ripper/converter?

  • It's one of my fav games:) Machinae Supremacy are awesome too.

  • Arcade style games seem that way a lot more if you arn't playing them I guess, but it's definitely a fun and intense game when you're actually playing it. It's a good time waster when you don't feel like cranking up a Bluray/bigger game.

  • well the game looks kinda boring. but at least the music is good xD
